Ugh, people can be toxic!! You know the ones I am talking about right? The emotional vampires, the narcissists, the friends or family members that say they love you but tell you that you need to be more realistic because pursuing your dreams is childish. These kinds of people can suck the life out of you and make you feel like sh*t.

We all have those kinds of people in our lives and it’s time to kick them to the curb!

Our mental real estate is so vital to our success and happiness, and we have to make sure to only keep those around us that love us and lift us higher! Especially if we want to make more money and increase our happiness!

Think of it as an A-list party. Would you want some drunk, crazy person to be hanging out at this fabulous party saying all these sh*tty things about you?  Would you want to surround yourself with people who were only using you for your connections, or were secretly gossiping about you behind your back? NO! They would have to wait behind the velvet rope like all the other hopefuls who have hidden agendas or bad intentions.

If you want more money and happiness, then surround yourself with wealthy and happy people who align with your ideal way of living. The most successful and happy people surround themselves with those who are also successful and happy too. It’s like that old phrase: you are sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So let’s make sure that you surround yourself with the best of the best!

Now sometimes it is hard to let go of toxic relationships. Whether you feel obligated to still be there for them or you feel guilty if you have to let them go, there is a way to do so without burning all your bridges or committing social suicide.

Watch the video below or read on for my 5 Steps to Let Go of Toxic Relationships!

Step 1: Identify what your ideal life and ideals are.

First figure out what you ultimately want in life. Time to journal! How much money do you want to earn? How do you want earn your money? How do you treat people? What is your success mentality? What things make you happy?

Once you figure this out, this is the kind of person you want to surround yourself with!

Step 2: Sort people in your life into lists

Now that you have a clear idea of what kind of people you want to surround yourself with, it’s time to take a look at who is currently in your life. This way you can determine whether to keep them or let them go.

I like to put people in lists: The A-list, B-list, C-list, and Stalkers (aka people who will never get past the velvet ropes.)

A-listers: those in your closest circle. Your BFFs. Your squad. Your trusted tribe.

B-listers: those who aid you in some way, great co-workers, professional allies

C-listers: those who are nice to you and like you, but don’t add too much value to your life. Acquaintances.

Stalkers: those who are toxic and bring you down

Step 3: Hang out with your A-listers and B-listers more

Call these people up and hang out with them more. Their positive vibes and wealth mentality will raise your spirits and confidence. Even if it is just your dog, it will shower you with more love and affection than any psychopath would! We want positivity!

Step 4: Unfollow/Unfriend the stalkers

Now that you have seen how positive of an effect these A-listers are, you can drop the Stalkers from your life. Clean out your Facebook friends, unfollow on Instagram, drop the Snapchat Stalkers who contribute nothing. Remove those individuals who always post negative things. They won’t know that you unfollowed them, so whatever. Just do it!

For those in your real life, start cutting them out of your life. If you can’t burn the bridge, start hanging out with them less. When they call, don’t pick up the phone. Let it go to voicemail. You don’t have to get back to them. You are now busy being an A-lister!

TIP: thank them for the lessons that they have taught you. And then move on. You grew from this experience. Now it’s time to expand your wings and fly out of their shadow!

Step 5: Add more people in your life who have a wealthy and successful mentality

If you don’t a lot of A-listers in your life, expand your social circle by meeting more people with your interests on meetup.com or joining a mastermind to get support for your career. Or go find a great FB group with like-minded individuals. They are out there, I promise!

Also, start following inspiring wealthy accounts on social media (e.g. Goal cast, Project Happiness or celebrities you admire). Fill your feed with happiness and success. And with people who have a wealth mentality!

The more I surrounded myself with women who had a wealthy mindset, the more abundance I attracted. Seeing how they believed they were worthy of nice things and earning lots of money, I realized that I needed to believe that for myself too. And once I did, the money started rolling in, and my happiness spiked!. This is because I was with women who really supported my dreams and believed that I could achieve them. They helped me figure out the steps I needed to take in order to achieve my goals. #yourvibeattractsyourtribe
