What does FREEDOM look like to you?

Happy Independence Day!

The Fourth of July used to be a day where I was super excited to grill hamburgers and eat hot dogs and rock my red lipstick while sipping a cool ice tea by my friend’s pool during a fun BBQ gathering. It was honestly more of an excuse to not have to work.

Now I have really begun to think about that FREEDOM. And independence.

WHAT DOES FREEDOM LOOK LIKE TO YOU? #journalingprompt

For me freedom looks like that white warrior outfit in the picture above! I feel powerful. I feel confident. I feel beautiful. And yet, I feel grounded and calm and totally at peace. And I feel at ease. I feel like I look like The Ancient One or some wise wizard haha!! But most importantly, I feel like ME.

But seriously, aside from all white outfits, what does freedom really look like for you? What would you want to have to actually feel FREE?

Too often we feel SO OBLIGATED to so many things:

Our jobs (even if you are a solo entrepreneur like me)

Our relationships

Our family

There’s this “obligation” or “requirement” that we “have” to do something that we really don’t want to do, but we do it anyway because we’ve been conditioned by society to think that THAT is the way we are supposed to behave in order to get the FREEDOM to do what we actually want to do.

It’s kind of why I am not a fan of America’s “Live to Work” mentality. I much prefer the European’s mentality of “Work to Live.”

I want to LIVE my life.

Which means– I want to do the things that bring me joy!

Travel to exotic places I have never been before!
Try that brand new restaurant that has been getting crazy good reviews!
Spend quality time with those that I love.
And buy whatever I want whenever I want and not have to worry about whether it will prevent me from paying my bills or not.

I want to be able to BE FREE to make my own choices and be 100% okay with the choices that I make!
I want to be able to do what I want to do despite any disapproval from others.
I want to be able to EXPRESS MYSELF FREELY and SPEAK MY TRUTH with ease and always from the heart.
I want to be able to LOVE WHOEVER I WANT TO FUCKING LOVE and have that be okay!
I want to fill my life with rich, luxurious, fulfilling experiences that fill my heart with so much joy!

Because isn’t that the whole fucking point of FREEDOM?

That YOU get to choose what you want to do, when you want to do it, and who you want to do it with.

YOU get to choose what kinds of experiences you want to have and what people and things you want to surround yourself with.

YOU get to choose whether you want to buy a whole entire white warrior outfit from Athleta (as seen in the photo above) or not.

And you GET to choose because you GET to decide what life you want to live, what clothes you get to wear, what food you get to eat, and what kind of life you want to live moving forward. #takeyourpowerback

THAT’S what freedom looks like to me.

Freedom looks like being able to choose your own path and tell your own story and write your own future that’s filled with abundance and love and wealth and success. Being able to use your talents and magical gifts to help others and get massively compensated for your god-given skills. Where love really does conquer all and where you are in fact living happily ever after NOW.
